James Gomez (born January 1965, Singapore) is a well-known democracy professional and practitioner. He believes in democracy and anchors his work in its values. Since democracy building is complex, James takes a multi-faceted approach in promoting it. He uses a mixture of academic, professional, civil society and political platforms at the national, regional and international levels to promote democracy both online and offline. In doing so, he has to constantly negotiate and defend the various platforms he uses. James’ work with democracy promotion over the years has been the subject of scholarly studies and media reports.
